Ramsgate Arts

We are 1 year old!

As an organisation we are one year old this month. A group of Ramsgate residents came together to form a charitable organisation to promote and facilitate arts events and activities in the town.

We are working towards creating an annual arts festival that will provide activities for all and which will attract visitors from the local area and much further afield. We are staging a major event in the town this August Bank Holiday weekend (28th - 30th) -which is called "A Summer Squall!" Programming for this event is being developed over the next few weeks and we will post details once they are finalised.

We also stage and facilitate other arts events, performances and activities in and around the town. On Saturday 27th April 2010, we staged the first of our Take Art Take Pride events in the centre of Ramsgate. There will be two more events like this in the coming months. In the summer of 2009, we took over an empty shop in the town centre for our Love:Hate:Hope:Ramsgate event which was a huge success. We are currently working on three small-scale outdoor events in the town with the working title of Take Art, Take Pride.
